Maple Gingersnaps
These cookies are the perfect comfort food!
IngredientsÂ
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp maple syrup
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup maple sugar (topping)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter with white and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and maple syrup.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, spices, baking soda, and salt.

Add dry ingredients to butter mixture in three steps, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

Put maple sugar for topping in a small bowl.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll them in maple sugar. Place dough balls two inches apart on parchment-lined cookie sheets.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in preheated oven. Remove cookies from oven when top is crackled and slightly browned. Remove the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
